Georgetta Dane grew up in Romania and graduated from Galati University before moving to America and landing a lab job at Kendall Jackson. After several years there, she launched her own brand in 2007. She brought in this lot from Northern Italy a year after she was named Best Woman Winemaker at the International Women’s Wine Competition, and her Pinot Grigio shows some extended skin contact with its light honey wardrobe. It’s a beautifully easy drink that opens with aromas of baked pear, honeydew melon, starfruit, gooseberry and a slice of fresh jicama. That’s followed by an enjoyably rich mouth feel on the entry of pear and apricot flavors, backed by kiwi fruit acidity and Asian pear skin in the finish.
